Festival Program

The Awakenings performing arts program offers opportunities in dance, drama, comedy, poetry, music, and is complemented by a number of workshops in a range of arts skills, plus professional development training for Artistic Directors and volunteers (First Step Weekend and Awakenings Breakfast Forum).

Visual arts, photographic exhibitions and competitions, outdoor adventures, the Awakenings Ball, an ecumenical church service and associated community fringe events add value to the program.

Program changes in 2008 -

Start planning your trip now because the program will be better in 2008 with the following changes:

Performing Arts Program (Wesley and Nexus)

• The performing arts program will be run over three nights from Wednesday 22nd to Friday 24th inclusive.
• There will be no performing arts program on Saturday 25th.
• The only events to be held on Saturday 25th at night will be the Awakenings Ball (to be held at a different venue) and a quieter music session at a café

Visual Arts

We will be advertising for expressions of interest to exhibit visual art in the 2008 festival early in 2008. Do you have a masterpiece that you would like to display at Awakenings??

Workshops program

We will be advertising for expressions of interest for workshop facilitators for 2008 festival early in 2008. Watch this space.
